User-friendly online store

Client

Volcano is a company with over 30 years of experience in designing, producing, and distributing casual clothing. The brand is deeply rooted in the “slow fashion” philosophy, offering high-quality garments in timeless cuts.

Project goal

Volcano wanted to build a functional and buyer-friendly store that would fully reflect the brand message — and help increase the share of e-Commerce in total B2C revenue to 30%.

We started the implementation of Volcano’s B2C e-Commerce platform from scratch — by refreshing the brand identity. This branding stage helped us design an attractive sales platform and align communication across all customer touchpoints.

The next step was redesigning the store to better highlight the product range and make sure users could easily access all key information. After the visual refresh, the new Volcano store became clean and intuitive — on both desktop and mobile.

We implemented the redesigned platform using Magento 2.4 and the ScandiPWA theme. As a result, the Volcano store became fast and user-friendly, especially for mobile shoppers.

When launching the MVP of the Volcano store, we focused on ERP integration, core order management features, brand presentation, and simplifying product data management on the platform.

We integrated the new Volcano e-Commerce with marketing automation tools, modern payment methods, and — most importantly — the Akeneo PIM system for product information management.

For this project, we also used Amasty modules to boost sales functionality and support efficient backend management for the store admin.

Tangible outcomes

A profitable e-Commerce store

  • A refreshed brand

    After running branding workshops with Volcano’s leadership and analyzing the competitive landscape, we created a brand strategy document featuring the brand archetype, USP, storybrand model, and unique communication elements. This work led to the creation of the slogan “Volcano. Na dłużej.” — now the central message used in the brand’s marketing campaigns.

  • Shopper-friendly store

    As part of the new e-Commerce rollout, we proposed a refreshed store layout. Based on UX workshops, we designed a new homepage, product page, category listings, checkout, and customer account panel — making site navigation more intuitive and enjoyable for users.

  • More efficient technology

    When launching the new Volcano store, we improved the customer journey and optimized performance in all key areas. As a result, the product page now scores 91/100 in Google Lighthouse, while the redesigned checkout achieves 94/100.

  • Promising results

    The new Volcano platform went live on January 17, 2024. After just two months — and with the full product catalog launched — we already saw increases in both the average cart value and total order volume. Early results are very promising.
