A new chapter in headless architecture.

We were selected for this project thanks to our deep Magento expertise and proven skills in implementing the Akeneo PIM system. Our service offering matched the client’s business requirements perfectly. The client’s strong involvement was also key — from shaping requirements to regular status meetings and testing. This project proves that commitment on both sides is the true key to success.

Client

Carpeto is a brand operating in the home decor sector since 2015. Its portfolio includes over 20,000 machine-woven rugs distributed through a wide network of partners in Poland and across Europe, as well as via its own e-Commerce store.

Project goal

The main goal of the project was to modernise the existing Magento-based sales platform and optimise it for mobile devices to meet the expectations of today’s e-Commerce customer. The new headless PWA-based version of the store was planned as the next step in the company’s digital growth, following the implementation of the Akeneo PIM system. A key requirement was to execute the migration in a way that would maintain the integrity of the product catalogue and ensure uninterrupted platform operation.

Our collaboration began in May 2022 with taking over the existing store based on traditional, monolithic Magento 2 and implementing the Akeneo PIM system. In September, we started developing the new version of Carpeto.pl, which went live in December the same year—just 3.5 months after the implementation phase began.

We built Carpeto.pl based on a headless architecture, separating the frontend from the backend. This made it easier to scale and implement changes, as well as build frontends tailored to specific devices, greatly improving the user experience.

The main goal of the implementation was to optimise the store for mobile devices. That’s why we based the entire e-Commerce development on a mobile-first approach and Progressive Web App principles. We combined Magento 2 with ScandiPWA technology.

Carpeto.pl offers many products sold by the metre. We developed a custom module to allow purchases starting from 0.1 running meter—making it possible for customers to buy exactly what they need.

Carpeto Rugs® operates its own warehouses in central Poland. To improve order processing, we created a custom module that informs users about estimated delivery times. It supports delivery dates set per product, globally, or even accounting for public holidays and cut-off hours.

To meet customer expectations regarding payment options, we implemented a Stripe-based module that supports Przelewy24, credit cards, and Blik.

To help customers find products that match their needs, we developed an advanced search engine that displays keyword suggestions, products, and relevant categories directly in the autocomplete field.

To build trust in the brand, we integrated Carpeto.pl with the TrustMate review system and launched all the necessary widgets so customers can easily check reviews or leave their own feedback.

Tangible outcomes

An online store with limitless potential

  • Fast time to market

We launched Carpeto.pl in December 2022—just 3.5 months after starting development. This allowed our Partner to enter the new year with a revamped store and easily compare year-over-year performance.

  • Mobile-first approach

The new e-Commerce version aimed to improve the mobile shopping experience. Thanks to Magento PWA, it did just that. The store now scores 100/100 in the PWA Performance test.

  • System performance

Applying PWA principles naturally enforced speed and efficiency. The headless architecture further boosted the platform’s overall performance.

  • Modern design

By tailoring the ScandiPWA template to meet business goals and current trends, we created a store that looks great on any device. Thanks to close collaboration between our UX designer and Carpeto’s representative, we achieved a cohesive and customer-focused design.

  • Easier scalability

Headless architecture enabled quicker and more cost-effective changes across both frontend and backend. Carpeto can now test and roll out new features with ease—making their business much easier to scale.

Carpeto testimonial

Before launching the project itself, we defined the requirements and key business goals together with Satisfly. I particularly appreciated the PM’s constructive approach—not every idea should make it into the MVP.

The implementation was carried out as planned, communication did not disappoint, which led to quick resolution of both minor and major issues. The system go-live was preceded by thorough testing, and the migration process was properly supervised by the team. With this level of collaboration, I’m confident that expanding our e-Commerce into other EU countries will be a complete success.
