To increase the significance of the e-Commerce channel in the company’s revenue, Edu-Książka decided to create a new sales platform, Bookland.pl, free from technological debt and capable of integrating B2C and B2B sales within a single system. And that’s precisely what we did, embedding Edu-Książka’s new store into a modern e-Commerce data flow system.

Edu-Książka is a company that has been distributing textbooks, books, games, puzzles, and stationery for nearly a quarter of a century. It operates in the B2C sector, selling its products to concerned parents, and the B2B sector, supplying bookstores with the most popular educational titles and more.

Project Goal

Edu-Książka had a clearly defined goal – to create an e-Commerce system that aligns with the modern data flow within the company and integrates B2C and B2B sales into a single instance, simplifying internal processes.

We began our collaboration with Edu-Książka by conducting a pre-implementation analysis. Based on this, we prepared specific guidelines for the sales platform and a plan for its implementation. At this stage, we also conducted workshops that resulted in a tailored design for the online store.

We built the Bookland.pl platform on Magento using the ScandiPWA template to ensure optimal performance and compliance with mobile-first standards. Thanks to Magento’s advanced capabilities, we were also able to create an additional store (this time for B2B) on the same instance.

The developed B2C platform was integrated with Base.com to further optimize sales management in the Bookland store. However, this was not the only integration in the project. The platform was also connected to other tools, including Salesmanago, PIM, and an SMS gateway, to streamline store operations and increase profitability.

We also developed a pre-sale module, enabling Bookland.pl customers to purchase products not yet in stock, with information on when the product will become available. As a result, we needed to create a sales logic for shopping carts containing such products and virtual and in-store-only products.

We enhanced the Bookland store with a promotion timer that counts down the time remaining until the end of sales, a “My Textbooks” configurator that allows users to assemble a set of textbooks for a specific school, and a module for checking order statuses for non-logged-in customers. This ensured a positive user experience.

Before the final launch of the Bookland.pl platform, we performed all necessary migrations, such as importing SEO settings for products and categories. This was done to ensure a smooth migration process and maintain the store’s ranking in Google’s search results, enabling it to generate satisfactory organic traffic.

  • Modern e-Commerce System

    For Edu-Książka, we developed a B2C online store that seamlessly integrates into the company’s entire technological ecosystem, connecting the Bookland.pl sales platform with systems like PIM, Base.com, and ERP. By developing the store on Magento 2, we were also able to effortlessly create a B2B platform for clients on the same instance in a subsequent phase.

  • Mobile-Friendly Platform

    The e-Commerce store for Edu-Książka was built using the ScandiPWA template. This approach delivered a user experience comparable to that of a mobile application. In an era where smartphones are the most commonly used devices for online shopping, providing an excellent UX on mobile devices is crucial.

  • Customer at the Center

    To address customer needs, we implemented numerous features that simplify the purchasing process. These include the “My Textbooks” configurator, stock availability checks for individual stores, and a pre-sale option. Using an open-source engine also enables further development of this e-Commerce platform as customer demands evolve.

  • SEO-Optimized Store

    During the implementation of the B2C online store for Edu-Książka, we migrated all SEO settings to preserve its search engine ranking and ensure a continuous flow of organic traffic. As a result of this migration, the SEO score in the Lighthouse system reached a perfect 100/100 after the new platform launch.
